Remember my shameless love for Barbie? Still not getting over my MACxAladdin lovely eye palette and powder blush, I unintentionally discovered this 2018 Sephora-exclusive Barbie kit while browsing through Sephora MY Website last month.
After a sour experience with their stingy SEPHORA Black welcome gift last year, I was actually done with this brand. Really, there’s a one month duration to collect my Black Welcome Gift?! Pff! Despite decent feedbacks from their customer service team, my heart (and bank account) are already cold from the entire experience. That experience in June was the last time I ever did anything with the brand, ever. I uninstalled and unsubscribed from both the app & the enewsletter, turned the other cheek & my nose up whenever I walked past a Sephora store, and I didn’t even bother to take advantage of my member birthday reward in December (instead; I let LUSH took my money❤)
That’s it. Until June come again this year. The month when I watched Aladdin twice; the time I snatched some MACxAladdin beauties coz “It’s Aladdin!” “And look how pretty these packagings are!” And also the month, which has been exactly a year later that I snaked my eyes through Sephora MY website; hoping so much to find a few last remaining MACxAladdin products.
While luck wasn’t on my side, (Where are Genie?) I somehow came across this kit on the website;
C’mon, Barbie cap? And a black mascara included? Man I’m sold! So I caved in and order this kit in late June. Waiting patiently for this baby to arrive my doorstep.
Alas, I was left soured. Again. Although this time around it wasn’t exactly Sephora’s fault. Rather, the courier service for Sephora SG srewed up BIG time by taking a week to reach my home. Really, you couldn’t find my home add? Oh, I didn’t realised I’ve been living in a jungle and Google Map failed to locate me. Thanks for the news, Aramex.
Just like a year ago, I unistalled Sephora MY mobile app from my phone and unsubbed my email from their newsletter subs, again. This Barbie x SEPHORA Collection is lovely, it’s nostalgic. Even my kid loves the pink-and-grey ’90s boombox’. But it’s not enough, Sephora.
